So The Wait Is Over
I finally heard back from the insurance regarding my stolen camera gear.

They're refusing to pay.

I'm losing faith rapidly. Not only have I wasted several thousand pounds on insurance over the last few years, I'm now missing £5000 of camera gear. At the moment I'm at a bit of a loss. Obviously I'm going to pursue things legally but inevitably that's going to take a long time.

So as it stands I'm rather screwed. I feel really bad asking but I'm going to need your help.

Loads of people have suggested setting up a PayPal account, the truth is I just don't feel right asking for donations.

However there is another way you can help, if you can afford it, buy some prints.

500 12"x8" prints at £15 each.

That's how many I need to sell, is that achievable? I really hope so!

Despite crack heads stealing my camera and insurance workers who seem to take joy in attempting to ruin peoples lives I'm just about retaining my sense of optimism. With not much else to do I'm going to sit here, listen to "Stubbs The Zombie: The Soundtrack" on loop and do the definitive sort of all of my photographs.

I'm going to give it two weeks to see how thing work out. In that time I promise you at least one set of photos per day, so keep checking back.

If you have a second please link this message anywhere where people might be able to help.

Yes, the print-selling does sound feasible to me.

Fuck. May I ask what their reasons for not paying are? Only, I'm starting to wonder now if shelling out for insurance is really worth it.

I will definitely repost this and start fishing through your collection for potential Christmas presents :)

That's so awful!

I shall definitely promote this a little bit, and although I don't have £15 to hand, sadly, I'll certainly consider buying some of your 6"x4" prints.

That's bad luck Andrew.

HOWEVER how do you feel your documentation, and thus perpetution, of the liberty-loving east London druggy lifestyle sits against your robbery? How would you feel if the burgulars used the money to buy guitars to start a grotty band of the type you photograph?

I'm not saying 'what goes around comes around' but maybe it would be good if you thought about things rather than basking in the love of your teenage hard of a friendslist...

Gosh, what an awful thing to post to someone who's down on his luck. I hope what comes around goes around for you too, then maybe when you're having a really bad time of it, maybe someone will give you a cyber kick when you're down.

I've been screwed over by insurance companies twise myself. Resulting at about the same amount of loss you have.

Just keep getting back to them and pursue it in court as soon as possible because the closer to the time the easier it will be.

if all else fails give them as much bad press as you can.

I'm so sorry to hear that the insurance company didn't come through for you. There are a couple prints I've been meaning to get for a while, so it might as well be now.

Hopefully this time I'll pay better attention when ordering: I thought I was ordering a 16"x20" last time when actually it was a 20"x30". Lovely as the photo is, a larger-than-life version of this is a bit much. oops! haha.

My back account should be sorted in a few days. I was thinking about those prints and they seem a bit small...

shall spring and get a bigger one to hang in my room probably. I might as well. I'm already spending money, I might as well do it right.

I've always wanted an AK photo in my room anyway. Hmm, going to browse now. And link. :) Good luck with everything.
